CAUTION
Make sure hoist plug threads are clean and free of debris. Failure to comply may result in
damage to equipment.
16.
Apply antiseize compound to threads of hoist plug (Figure 8, Item 2).
WARNING
Make sure hoist plug swivels freely, without loosening connection, when attached to drill
rod. Failure to comply may result in injury or death to personnel. Seek medical attention in
the event of an injury.
17.
Install hoist plug (Figure 9, Item 3) in drill rod (Figure 9, Item 2).

Attach 8-ft nylon web sling (Figure 9, Item 1) to end of drill rod (Figure 9, Item 2) to steady drill rod during
lifting procedure.
