Set BREAKOUT WRENCH switch (Figure 3, Item 4) to down position and attach breakout wrench
(Figure 3, Item 2) to upper drill rod (Figure 3, Item 1).

WARNING
When using breakout wrench to loosen joint between upper and lower drill rod, ensure joint
at tophead is not coming loose. Upper drill rod could come loose and fall. Failure to comply
may result in injury or death to personnel. Seek medical attention in the event of an injury.
5.
Set BREAKOUT WRENCH switch (Figure 3, Item 4) to up position to break joint free between upper drill rod
(Figure 3, Item 1) and lower drill rod (Figure 3, Item 3).
6.
Repeat Steps 4 and 5 until upper drill rod (Figure 3, Item 1) has broken free from lower drill rod
(Figure 3, Item 3).
