CATWALKS AND STEPS SETUP - Continued
WARNING
Always use two personnel when opening or closing catwalks and handrails. Failure to
comply may result in injury or death to personnel. Seek medical attention in the event of an
injury.
NOTE
Procedures are same for catwalks and steps on both sides of MCS. Left-side shown.

With aid of two assistants, remove two safety pins (Figure 4, Item 2 and Item 3) from two pins
(Figure 4, Item 4 and Item 7).

Remove two pins (Figure 4, Item 4 and Item 7) from both braces (Figure 4, Item 5 and Item 6) and catwalk
(Figure 4, Item 1).
6.
Rotate brace (Figure 4, Item 6) outward to horizontal position.
7.
Lower catwalk (Figure 4, Item 1) to horizontal position.
