With aid of an assistant, perform the following steps:
a.
Push FAST FEED control (Figure 33, Item 5) forward to raise upper drill rod (Figure 33, Item 1) up
until top of tooling joint (Figure 33, Item 3) of lower drill rod (Figure 33, Item 2) is approximately 0.5 in.
(13 mm) above top of fork (Figure 33, Item 4).

b.
Set and hold FORK switch (Figure 33, Item 6) to down position to extend fork (Figure 33, Item 4).
c.
Set BREAKOUT WRENCH switch (Figure 34, Item 4) to down position and attach breakout wrench
(Figure 34, Item 2) to upper drill rod (Figure 34, Item 1).
