DRIVING VEHICLE (UPSHIFTING)
WARNING
Heavy vehicles with a high center of gravity can roll over at posted speed limits.
Pay attention to road signs posted to warn of road conditions ahead. Speed limits
posted on curves reflect speeds that are considered safe for automobiles. Use
care and reduce your speed below the posted limit prior to entering a curve.
Failure to comply may result in injury or death to personnel. Seek medical attention
in the event of an injury.
Avoid sudden acceleration when drive wheels are on a slippery surface. Sudden
acceleration could cause drive wheels to spin and allow the vehicle to slide
sideways. This condition is made worse when vehicle is parked on a grade. Failure
to comply may result in injury or death to personnel. Seek medical attention in the
event of an injury.
Do not adjust steering column while vehicle is moving. Steering column could
suddenly or unexpectedly move causing driver to lose control of vehicle. Failure to
comply may result in injury or death to personnel. Seek medical attention in the
event of an injury.
Do not operate vehicle when primary or secondary air pressure is below 70 psi
(483 kPa). Brakes will not operate properly when air pressure is below 70 psi (483
kPa). Failure to comply may result in injury or death to personnel. Seek medical
attention in the event of an injury.
Rapid or repeated operation of service brakes will consume compressed air supply
and cause automatic spring brake application when pressure drops below 45 psi
(310 kPa). Failure to follow proper service brake operating procedures may result
in serious injury or death to personnel. Seek medical attention in the event of an
injury.
Soft shoulders can collapse causing vehicle to become stuck or roll over. Do not
drive on or park on soft shoulders. Failure to comply may result in injury or death to
personnel. Seek medical attention in the event of an injury.
Driver and passenger must wear seatbelts during operation. Failure to comply may
result in injury or death to personnel. Seek medical attention in the event of an
injury.
