NOTE
Normal upshifting is from current gear to next higher gear. For example, upshifting from 1st
gear to 2nd gear.

Depress clutch pedal (Figure 5, Item 1) and move gearshift lever (Figure 5, Item 5) to next higher gear.
9.
Release clutch pedal (Figure 5, Item 1) and depress accelerator pedal (Figure 5, Item 3).
10.
Repeat Steps 8 and 9 to shift transmission from 1st gear to 2nd gear, 2nd gear to 3rd gear, 3rd gear to 4th
gear, and 4th gear to 5th gear. Once transmission is shifted into 5th gear, proceed to Step 11.
11.
Depress accelerator pedal (Figure 5, Item 3) until engine speed reaches 1,800 rpm.
12.
Move Hi-Lo range control handle (Figure 5, Item 4) to up position (H) for transmission high range, then
release accelerator pedal (Figure 5, Item 3).
13.
Depress clutch pedal (Figure 5, Item 1) and move gearshift lever (Figure 5, Item 5) into 6th gear.
14.
Release clutch pedal (Figure 5, Item 1) and depress accelerator pedal (Figure 5, Item 3).
15.
Depress clutch pedal (Figure 5, Item 1) and move gearshift lever (Figure 5, Item 5) to next higher gear.
16.
Release clutch pedal (Figure 5, Item 1) and depress accelerator pedal (Figure 5, Item 3).
17.
Repeat Steps 15 and 16 for additional upshifts.

CAUTION
Never slam or jerk shift lever when shifting transmission. Failure to comply may
result in damage to equipment.
Never shift Hi-Lo range control handle while in reverse. Failure to comply may
result in damage to equipment.
NOTE
When downshifting, increase engine speed to match the transmission speed of the
gear you are shifting into.
Normal downshifting is from current gear to next lower gear. For example,
downshifting from 10th gear to 9th gear or downshifting from 9th gear to 8th gear.
