With the aid of an assistant, start engine. (TM 5-3825-270-10)

With engine running, loosen engine injection pump banjo-fitting in 1/2 turn increments until fuel begins to leak
out of fitting in a steady flow.

For a minimum of 30 seconds, visually inspect fuel stream for disrupted flow indicating air pockets.
7.
If fuel stream is consistent and air pockets are not suspected, tighten engine injection pump banjo-fitting and
air vent cock.
8.
If air pockets are suspected, allow fuel to continue to drain until fuel stream is constant and free from air pockets.
9.
When fuel stream is consistent and no signs of air pockets are present, tighten engine injection pump banjo-
fitting.
10.
Close air vent cock.
