TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE
ENGINE HAS HIGH TEMPERATURE - PAC
SYMPTOM
High engine coolant temperature fault indicator illuminated, engine fault code present, and/or engine coolant
temperature gauge reads greater than 221F (105C).
MALFUNCTION
Engine coolant level low.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Check engine coolant level (WP 0201).
a.
If low, fill to proper level with correct engine coolant (WP 0216). Start engine and verify if
engine operating temperature returns to normal (Volume 1, WP 0059).
b.
If engine coolant level is within specification, proceed to next Malfunction - Ambient air
temperature greater than 115F (46C).
MALFUNCTION
Ambient air temperature greater than 115F (46C).
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Verify if ambient temperature where PAC is operating is greater than 115F (46C).
a.
If ambient temperature is greater than 115F (46C), wait until ambient temperature is less
than 115F (46C). Start engine and verify if engine operating temperature returns to
normal (Volume 1, WP 0059).
b.
If ambient temperature is less than 115F (46C), proceed to next Malfunction - Out of
level condition.
