TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE
ENGINE HAS LOW OIL PRESSURE - PAC
SYMPTOM
LOW ENGINE OIL PRESSURE fault indicator illuminated, engine fault code present, and/or ENGINE OIL
PRESS. gauge reads less than 18 psi (124 kPa).
MALFUNCTION
Engine oil level low.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
NOTE
A lower oil pressure is normal at low idle. When a low engine oil pressure
condition is suspected, oil pressure should be checked with no load, and at low
idle speed.
Check engine oil level (WP 0201).
a.
If low, fill to proper level with correct engine oil (WP 0215).Verify if engine oil pressure
returns to normal (Volume 1, WP 0059).
b.
If engine oil level is within specification, proceed to next MALFUNCTION - Out of level
condition.
MALFUNCTION
Out of level condition.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
NOTE
PAC should not be parked on unlevel ground where slope is greater than 15
degrees in any direction.
Verify if PAC is parked on unlevel ground at an angle greater than 15 degrees in all directions.
a.
If parked at an angle greater than 15 degrees, reposition PAC on more-level ground and
verify angle is less than 15 degrees in all directions. Verify if engine oil pressure returns to
normal (Volume 1, WP 0059).
