POSITIONING DRILL ROD STORAGE CARTRIDGES
CAUTION
Make sure automated rod handling arm is in upright position before positioning drill rod
cartridges. Failure to comply may result in damage to the equipment.
1.
Set and hold PIPE POSITIONING ARM ELEVATION switch (Figure 9, Item 1) to RAISE position until
automated rod handling arm (Figure 9, Item 3) is in full upright position.

Set LIFTING BEAM switch (Figure 9, Item 2) to DOWN to lower lifting beam (Figure 9, Item 4) to its lowest
position.
CAUTION
Make sure automated rod handling arm is in upright position before positioning drill rod
cartridges. Failure to comply may result in damage to the equipment.
NOTE
When reloading drill rod cartridge, make sure to use inner cartridge first.
3.
Set and hold PIPE STORAGE CARTRIDGES OUTER switch (Figure 9, Item 6) to left position to move outer
drill rod cartridge (Figure 9, Item 5) over lifting beam (Figure 9, Item 4).
4.
Set and hold PIPE STORAGE CARTRIDGES OUTER switch (Figure 9, Item 6) to right position when outer
drill rod cartridge (Figure 9, Item 5) is empty.
5.
Set and hold PIPE STORAGE CARTRIDGES INNER switch (Figure 9, Item 7) to right position to move
inner drill rod cartridge (Figure 9, Item 5) over lifting beam (Figure 9, Item 4).
6.
Set and hold PIPE STORAGE CARTRIDGES INNER switch (Figure 9, Item 7) to left position when inner
drill rod cartridge (Figure 9, Item 5) is empty.
