WWDR FRONT BUMPER WINCH OPERATION - Continued
WARNING
Do not allow personnel to stand between vehicle with winch and item being
winched. Personnel could be crushed. Failure to comply may result in injury or
death to personnel. Seek medical attention in the event of an injury.
Do not allow personnel to stand near winch cable or attempt to guide cable. Cable
could fail or break free. Failure to comply may result in injury or death to personnel.
Seek medical attention in the event of an injury.
Tension can cause cables to stretch and snap or attachments to be thrown beyond
the normal length of the cable. Ensure personnel stand a minimum distance of 2
times the payout cable length and opposite of the angle of pull, during winch
operation. Failure to comply may result in injury or death to personnel. Seek
medical attention in the event of an injury.
7.
Move joystick (Figure 4, Item 3) rearward to reel in winch cable (Figure 4, Item 1). Increase engine rpm (not
to exceed 1,500 rpm) to increase winch speed.
8.
Pull PARKING BRAKE valve (Figure 4, Item 2) up to set parking brake, if required.
9.
Disconnect winch cable hook (Figure 4, Item 5) as required.
WARNING
Never operate winch with less than five wraps of cable on winch drum. Failure to
comply may result in injury or death to personnel. Seek medical attention in the
event of an injury.
Always wear gloves when handling winch cables. Pinch hazards exits during
operation. Failure to comply may result in injury or death to personnel. Seek
medical attention in the event of an injury.
10.
Move joystick (Figure 4, Item 3) rearward to reel in winch cable (Figure 4, Item 1) until 3 to 5 foot of cable
remains.
11.
With aid of an assistant, connect winch cable hook (Figure 4, Item 5) to winch mounting frame
(Figure 4, Item 4).
12.
Move joystick (Figure 4, Item 3) rearward to remove slack from winch cable (Figure 4, Item 1).
