HOSE INSTALLATION TO STANDPIPE
WARNING
Safety cables and wedges can pinch fingers. Wear gloves when connecting hoses with
safety cables. Failure to comply may result in injury or death to personnel. Seek medical
attention in the event of an injury.
NOTE
Safety cable and hose is connected to mud standpipe or air standpipe in the same
way. Mud standpipe is shown.
Select mud or air standpipe based on type of drilling required.

Pull safety cable wedge (Figure 28, Item 2) down to open loop in safety cable (Figure 28, Item 3).

Install safety cable (Figure 28, Item 3) to mud standpipe (Figure 28, Item 4) or air standpipe
(Figure 28, Item 5).

Install 3-in. (76 mm) hose (Figure 28, Item 1) to mud standpipe (Figure 28, Item 4) or air standpipe
(Figure 28, Item 5).
