TM 10-4320-307-243-7 FLEXIBLE COUPLING INSPECT/ALIGN/REPAIR/REPLACE (CONT).CLEANING/INSPECTION/REPAIR:Live steam used for cleaning shall not exceed 100 psi (690 kPa). During steam cleaningoperations, adequate ventilation, natural or forced, should be provided. Do not direct live steamagainst skin.Death or serious injury could occur if compressed air is directed against the skin. Do not usecompressed air for cleaning or drying unless the pressure is/has been reduced to 30 psi (2.11kgcm2) or less. When working with compressed air always use chip guards, eye protection, andother personal protective equipment.1.Steam clean flexible coupling and dry with compressed air.2.Inspect membranes, bolts, bushings, and exterior surfaces of hubs for damage and excessive wear.3.Repair is limited to the replacement of faulty part.NOTEWhen the flexible coupling requires replacement, it must be replaced as a unit and only a factoryassembled and balanced unit should be used.INSTALLATION:1.Install flexible coupling (1).2.Install bolts (2) in standard hub (3) and hub (4).3.Position protective cover (5) on engine enclosureand secure using four bolts and washers (6).3-12
