WARNING
Severe burns, illness, or death may result if
personnel fail to handle diesel fuel properly.
Observe the following precautions:
·
Do not inhale vapor.
·
Be certain fuel lines and connections are
secure.
·
Do not overfill fuel tank.
·
Work in a well-ventilated area.
Do not direct compressed air against skin.
b. Inspect breather tube for blockage and clean with diesel fuel. Dry with compressed air.
c. Wash element in diesel fuel and dry with compressed air. If cleaning does not remove
clogged or caked material from element, discard it and install a new element in breather
assembly.
NOTE
If gasket was destroyed during removal of the
breather assembly from the engine, a new
gasket should be installed after the gasket
surfaces on the breather and engine have
been cleaned.
d. Insert bolts and lockwashers in breather, position gasket, and install breather assembly on
engine. Tighten bolts securely.
Step 5. Check for obstructed muffler exhaust pipe.
WARNING
Handling hot exhaust shield, exhaust pipe,
muffler, and weather cap can cause severe
burns. Allow unit to cool before handling.
Open weather cap and remove
obstruction from exhaust pipe.
