CONNECTING PAC TO TOW VEHICLE - Continued
CAUTION
Do not tow without safety chains. Use safety chains to retain towed trailer if trailer
should fail or become disconnected. Failure to comply may result in damage to
equipment.
Make sure to leave sufficient slack during the installation of the safety chains for
vehicle turns but not enough to cause safety chains to come into contact with road
surfaces. Failure to comply may result in damage to equipment.
Make sure breakaway cable is securely coupled to trailer and also to tow vehicle.
Failure to comply may result in damage to equipment.
14.
Attach safety chains (Figure 7, Item 5) from PAC (Figure 7, Item 3) to clevises
(Figure 7, Item 6) of tow vehicle (Figure 7, Item 7) in crisscross pattern.

Attach breakaway cable (Figure 7, Item 4) to hook of safety chain (Figure 7, Item 5).
16.
Connect trailer brake cable plug (Figure 7, Item 2) to brake cable socket (Figure 7, Item 1).
17.
Remove wheel chocks (WP 0015).

Install wheel chocks (WP 0015).

Disconnect trailer brake cable plug (Figure 8, Item 2) from brake cable socket (Figure 8, Item 1).
