53. Idler gear
Apply a thin film of MIL-G-10924 grease to
outer thrust
inner face of outer thrust washer. Position
washer
thrust washer over end of hub with oil grooves
in the thrust washer facing the idler gear, and
the thrust washer inner diameter flat over the
hub flat.
54. Backlash be-
Check backlash. It should be 0.003 to 0.005

a maximum of 0.007 inch (0.1778 mm) with

Lubricate bearings and shafts with MIL-L-2104

to 35 ft lb (41 to 47 N.m).

Lubricate with MIL-L-2104 oil and install on
