Fuel Control
Remove valve cover
Tube
mounting bolts and
valve cover.
Examine
the fuel control tube,
control lever, rack
control lever, and
brackets for exces-
sive wear, cracks,
or other damage.
Examine the return
springs for wear or
fracture. If the
components are
worn, fractured,
cracked, or other-
wise damaged,
notify direct sup-
port maintenance.
Replace valve cover
and mounting bolts.
Tighten securely.

Cooling System
To flush the system proceed as follows:
WARNING
Hot coolant may be released when radiator cap
is removed. Allow engine to cool before removing
cap. Open cap part way to ensure that pressure in
cooling system is released, then remove cap.
a. Drain solution from
radiator by remov-
ing the radiator cap
and opening the
radiator draincock.
Then drain the
cylinder block by
opening the drain-
cock on the bottom
of the oil cooler
(behind fuel
strainer).
