NOTE
Engine oil capacity is 3.49 gal. (13.25 L).

Add 14 quarts of lubricating oil through opening (Figure 6, Item 9) in engine block (Figure 6, Item 10) using
funnel.
5.
Remove engine oil dipstick (Figure 6, Item 7) from engine block (Figure 6, Item 10) and wipe end with clean
rag.
6.
Install engine oil dipstick (Figure 6, Item 7) in engine block (Figure 6, Item 10).
7.
Remove engine oil dipstick (Figure 6, Item 7) from engine block (Figure 6, Item 10) to verify oil level is between
high and low marks.
8.
Reinstall engine oil dipstick (Figure 6, Item 7) in engine block (Figure 6, Item 10).
9.
Install oil cap (Figure 6, Item 8) in opening (Figure 6, Item 9) in engine block (Figure 6, Item 10).
10.
Clean any spilled oil with clean rag.
11.
Start engine. (TM 5-3825-270-10)
12.
Run engine for approximately 30 seconds.
13.
Shut OFF engine. (TM 5-3825-270-10)
14.
Remove engine oil dipstick (Figure 6, Item 7) from engine block (Figure 6, Item 10) and wipe end clean with
clean rag.
15.
Reinstall engine oil dipstick (Figure 6, Item 7) in engine block (Figure 6, Item 10).
16.
Remove engine oil dipstick (Figure 6, Item 7) from engine block (Figure 6, Item 10) and verify oil level is between
high and low marks.
CAUTION
Do not overfill oil. Failure to comply may result in damage to equipment.
