STEP 3
Are less than 200 ohms measured from violet wire at engine oil pressure switch to known good ground?
1.
Disconnect batteries. (WP 0085)
2.
Remove front engine access cover. (TM 5-3825-270-10)
3.
Set multimeter to measure continuity.

Ensure electrical power is off prior to working on all electrical systems. Failure to comply

Remove all jewelry, such as rings, ID tags, bracelets, etc., prior to working on or around
equipment. Jewelry and tools can catch on equipment, contact positive electrical circuits,
and cause a direct short, severe burns, or electrical shock. Failure to comply may result
in injury or death to personnel.
4.
Place red multimeter probe to violet wire at engine oil pressure switch.
VIOLET
ENGINE OIL
WIRE

RED
WIRE

5.
Place black multimeter probe to known good ground.
6.
Note multimeter reading.
CONDITION/INDICATION
Are less than 200 ohms measured from violet wire at engine oil pressure switch to known good ground?
DECISION
No - Go to step 4. (Step 4 - Does engine pass engine oil pressure test?)
Yes - Replace engine oil pressure switch. (WP 0137) Verify problem is solved. (Step 5 - Does engine oil pressure
gauge read normal?)
