Check for active fault alarms (WP 0171).

If fault alarm is present, correct fault if possible and verify if triplex pump operates (Volume
1, WP 0053), or notify maintenance if fault alarm cannot be resolved.
b.
If no fault alarm is present, proceed to next Malfunction - MUD STANDPIPE Switch in
closed position.

MUD STANDPIPE Switch in closed position.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Verify if MUD STANDPIPE Switch is in open position (Volume 1, WP 0007).
a.
If in closed position, place to open position and verify if triplex pump operates properly.
b.
If MUD STANDPIPE Switch is in open position, proceed to next Malfunction - MUD PUMP
flow regulator improperly set.
MALFUNCTION
MUD PUMP flow regulator improperly set.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1.
If operating triplex pump with MCS hydraulics, disregard this troubleshooting test and notify
maintenance.
2.
If operating triplex pump with auxiliary hydraulics from water well drilling rig, verify if REMOTE
MUD PUMP switch is set to REMOTE position and MUD PUMP SPEED CONTROL knob is set
for proper flow from mud pump (Volume 1, WP 0007).
a.
If MUD PUMP SPEED CONTROL knob is not set properly, set to proper level for
operation. Verify if triplex pump operates properly. If problem persists, notify maintenance.
b.
If MUD PUMP SPEED CONTROL knob is set properly, notify maintenance.
