CATWALKS AND STEPS STOWAGE
WARNING
Always use two personnel when opening or closing catwalks and handrails. Failure to
comply may result in injury or death to personnel. Seek medical attention in the event of an
injury.
NOTE
Procedures are same for catwalks and steps on both sides of MCS. Left-side shown.
1.
Loosen lever (Figure 8, Item 3) on handrail closeout (Figure 8, Item 5).

Loosen lever (Figure 8, Item 4) on handrail closeout (Figure 8, Item 5).
3.
Rotate handrail closeout (Figure 8, Item 5) to vertical position.
4.
Tighten lever (Figure 8, Item 3).
5.
Tighten lever (Figure 8, Item 4).
6.
With aid of an assistant, loosen both levers (Figure 8, Item 2 and Item 7) on handrail (Figure 8, Item 1) and
slide handrail end out of square tubes (Figure 8, Item 6 and Item 8).
