4.
Set WINCH CLUTCH RELEASE switch (Figure 2, Item 4) to Forward position to engage winch clutch.
CAUTION
Maximum load for winch is 20,000 lb. Do not exceed maximum rating of winch. Failure to
comply may result in damage to equipment.
5.
Attach winch cable hook (Figure 2, Item 2) as required and proceed with winching operation.
NOTE
If using winch to free WWSV perform Step 6. For all other winching operations proceed to
Step 7.
6.
Release PARKING BRAKE (Figure 2, Item 6).
WARNING
Do not allow personnel to stand between vehicle with winch and item being
winched. Personnel could be crushed. Failure to comply may result in injury or
death to personnel. Seek medical attention in the event of an injury.
Do not allow personnel to stand near winch cable or attempt to guide cable. Cable
could fail or break free. Failure to comply may result in injury or death to personnel.
Seek medical attention in the event of an injury.
Tension can cause cables to stretch and snap or attachments to be thrown beyond
the normal length of the cable. Ensure personnel stand a minimum distance of 2
times the payout cable length and opposite of the angle of pull, during winch
operation. Failure to comply may result in injury or death to personnel. Seek
medical attention in the event of an injury.
7.
Move joystick (Figure 2, Item 5) rearward to reel in winch cable (Figure 2, Item 1). Increase engine rpm
(not to exceed 1,500 rpm) to increase winch speed.
8.
Pull PARKING BRAKE valve (Figure 2, Item 6) up to set parking brake, if required.
9.
Disconnect winch cable hook (Figure 2, Item 2) as required.
CAUTION
Ensure cable has been winched in and no less than five feet of cable is remaining. Failure
to comply may result in damage to equipment.
10.
With aid of an assistant, connect winch cable hook (Figure 2, Item 3) to winch frame (Figure 2, Item 2).
11.
Move joystick (Figure 2, Item 5) rearward to remove slack from winch cable (Figure 2, Item 1).
