PENDANT OPERATION OF DRILL ROD HANDLING SYSTEM - Continued
WARNING
Make sure drill rod is fully locked into tophead. Drill rod could come loose and fall.
Failure to comply may result in injury or death to personnel. Seek medical attention in
the event of an injury.
NOTE
Drill rod should lift slightly off base as it is engaged by tophead spindle.

Pull ROTATION control (Figure 25, Item 9) back to attach tophead (Figure 25, Item 2) to drill rod
(Figure 25, Item 5) until ROTATION PRESSURE gauge (Figure 25, Item 1) reads 2,100 psi (145 bar).

Disengage tophead mounted wrench (Figure 25, Item 3) by removing foot from foot switch
(Figure 25, Item 6).
