a.
Inspect FIP assembly (1) for damage.

Inspect all mounting hardware for damage.

Replace all damaged or defective components.
3.8.11.6 Installation.
a.
Remove two screws (6), flat washers,

Rotate FIP drive shaft (8) until the
TDC .
c .
Position gasket and cover (7) on FIP
washers and screws (6).
d .
Install new preformed packing (5) on
cover (7), and gasket from FIP assembly
first plunger of FIP assembly (1) is at
assembly (1) and secure with two flat
mounting flange of FIP assembly (1).
Mounting studs should be centered in elongated holes of FIP assembly.
Remove clean cloth used to stabilize fuel injection pump drive gear.

Install FIP assembly (1) on mounting studs (4) and secure with four flat
washers (3) and nuts (2).

Install three washers and screws (Figure 3-28,
1) in fuel injection pump drive

Test and adjust fuel injection pump start-of-delivery paragraph 3.8.11.2,
above.
h.
Remove pan and properly dispose of fuel in accordance with standing operating
procedures.
