Usually, unpacking will be required only if this will bethe intial use of Model 609-C. If required, unpack Model 609-C as follows:Steel strapping used to secure panel doors has sharp edges. To avoidpersonal injury, use care when cutting and handling steel strapping.a .b .c .2.4.3a .b.c .d .Panel doors of Model 609-C may have been secured with metal strapping. If so,use metal cutting shears to carefully cut metal strapping. Remove metalstrapping.There may be a packing list attached to the outside of the Model 609-Cenclosure, or inside one of the panel doors. There may also be a shortagepacking list and a depreservation guide. Remove and save the document(s).Using the packing list(s) removed in step b, inventory the Model 609-Ccomponents. Check missing items against shortage packing list (if any).Report any discrepancies to your supervisor.CheckingUnpackedEquipment. Perform the following checks on unpacked equipment.Inspect the equipment for damage incurred during shipment. If theequipment has been damaged, report the damage on SF 364, Report ofDiscrepancy. In addition, submit a DA Form 2404, Equipment Inspection andMaintenance Worksheet, or DA Form 2407, Maintenance Request, as appropriate.Check the equipment against the packing slip to see if the shipment iscomplete. Report all discrepancies in accordance with the instructions of DAPAM 738-750.Check to see if the equipment has been modified.Inspect all pump flanges for loose bolts, nuts, and attaching hardware.2-3
