Remove pump body drain plug (1). Remove allfluid from pump body. Crank engine briefly to complete draining. Replace drain plug.NOTEThe drain plug has a 1-5/16 inch square head and can be removed with a standard tool.g. Cover centrifugal pump unit with weather cover when not in use and shelter from weather, if possible.2-9. OPERATION IN EXTREME HEATCAUTIONPoor air filtering and restrictions to air and exhaust flows are harmful to engine. The engine of the centrifugal pump is air cooled.Heat is removed from the engine through engineexhaust, engine oil, and the passage of air acrossand through the cylinder cooling fins. Whenoperating in high temperatures, observe thefollowing.a. Intake duct. Inspect engine intake duct(1). Check that acoustical panel (2) is securelymounted and not blocking the blower intakeducting. Check that the blower intake ducting isnot distorted or interfering with V-belt operation.TM 5-4320-306-102-64
