(5) Close suction assembly gate valve (1) and discharge manifold assembly gate valve (2) to retain the
liquid in the pump.
2-7. PREPARATION FOR MOVEMENT
a. Shut down the centrifugal pump unit according to paragraph 2-6.h.
b. Be sure suction assembly and discharge manifold assembly gate valves (1 and 2) are closed.
c. Drain the discharge hose before disconnecting it from the discharge manifold assembly victaulic coupling
flange (3) (outlet). If the centrifugal pump unit has been used to pump fuel, drain the discharge hose into a suitable
container.
d. Remove suction hose from the suction assembly victaulic coupling flange (4) (inlet).
e. Remove discharge hose from the discharge manifold assembly victaulic coupling flange (3) (outlet).
f. Cover the victaulic coupling flanges
(outlet and inlet) (3 and 4) to keep debris from
entering the pump.
