ASSEMBLY AND PREPARATION FOR USE
a.
The centrifugal pump unit comes fully assembled, ready for use after attaching appropriate suction and discharge
hoses.
b.
Instructions for use are for information and guidance of personnel responsible for operation of the centrifugal
pump unit.
c.
The operator must know how to perform every operation of which the unit is capable. The following paragraphs
contain instructions on starting and stopping the unit, on operation of the pump assembly, and on coordinating the basic
motions to perform the specific tasks for which the equipment is designed. Since nearly every job presents a different
problem, the operator may have to vary given procedures to fit the individual job.

INITIAL ADJUSTMENTS
a.
Inspect pump assembly, engine, and trailer for loose or missing hardware, corrosion, or obvious damag e. Report
any problems to organizational maintenance.
WARNING
Severe burns, illness, or death may result if personnel fail to handle diesel fuel properly. Observe
the following precautions:
Do not inhale vapor.
Do not refuel near open flame, sparks, or excessive heat.
Be certain fuel lines and connections are secure.
Do not overfill fuel tank.
Work in a well-ventilated area.

Check fuel level. Add fuel as required.
