Cylinder With a heavy straightedge head bottom and feeler gage, check bottom of cylinder head for flatness along all lines shown. The maximum allowable longitudinal warpage is 0.005 inch (0.127 mm), and the maximum allowable transverse warpage is 0.004 inch (0.1016 mm). 29. Cam follower Inspect for scoring or wear. bores 30. Water nozzles Inspect for tightness. 31. Exhaust Inspect for excessive manifold rust, corrosion, or other studs damage. REPAIR/REPLACEMENT OF CYLINDER HEAD 32. Rocker arms, Replace shaft, bushings, or rocker arm if ex- shaft, and tremely worn or damaged. Replace arms or brackets bushings if clearance to rocker arm shaft is greater than 0.004 inch (0.1016 mm). Replace rocker arms if pallets are galled or worn. Re- place any worn valve bridges. Reassemble rocker arm and shaft assembly prior to in- stallation. 6-35
