PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE CHECKS AND SERVICES (PMCS) - Continued
Complete ANNUAL PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE once each year and/or every 250 hours, whichever
comes first.
Complete BIENNIAL PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE once every 2 years and/or every 500 hours, whichever
comes first.
Always complete PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE in the same order, every time, until it becomes habit. Once
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE is mastered, it should allow you to spot any discrepancies, even in a rushed
situation.
If something does not work, troubleshoot per instructions in the troubleshooting section of this publication.
If anything looks wrong and is not fixed immediately upon discovery, complete either a DA Form 2404 or
DA FORM 5988E.
When completing PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE, always take along the tools needed to make all the
required checks (including one or two clean rags).
