Do not work on equipment that is not
securely stabilized to prevent rolling

DO not work on equipment without follow-
ing standard shop safety practices.
4.4.21.1 Removal.

Performing equipment
(Figure 4-38, 1).
Remove two nuts (2),
lock washers (3) and
conditions specified above will remove engine block
lock washers (3), cover (4), and gasket (5).
Discard
gasket (5).
Remove twelve bolts (6), lock washers (7), two side cover plates (8), and
gaskets (9).
Discard lock washers (7) and gaskets (9).
Remove filler neck (10) and six oil passage pipe plugs (11) from engine
b l o c k ( 1 ).
Remove four pipe plugs (12) from engine block (1).
DO not remove five expansion plugs (13) in core openings, unless they show
signs of leakage.
Remove front camshaft bearing (14), two intermediate camshaft bearings (15),
and rear camshaft bearing (16) from engine block (1). Discard bearings (14,
15, and 16).
