3.6.6 FlexibleCouplingRepair.Models609-CandUS636HCCD-1a.b .c .d.e .•This procedure applies to Model 609-C.The procedure for ModelUS636HCCD-1 is similar.•Note distance between mounting surface of intermediate bracket assemblyand engine side of flexible coupler to ensure proper installation andoperation of flexible coupler.Measure distance between intermediate bracket assembly mounting surface(Figure 3-7, 1) and engine side of flexible coupler (2).Remove two setscrews (3).Install one setscrew (3) in remaining hole on bushing (4).Tighten setscrew(3) until bushing (4) breaks free from impeller shaft (5).Remove bushing (4),flexible coupler assembly (6), and woodruff key (7) fromimpeller shaft (5).Discard set screws (3) and woodruff key (7).Remove four bolts (8) and flexible coupler (2) from hub (9).3.6.6.2 Repair.a.Inspect all components and mounting hardware for damage.b .Replace all defective components.3.6.6.3 Assembly.a.Position flexible coupler (2) on hub (9) and secure with four bolts (8).Torque belts (8) to 150 ft-lbs (203 N•m).b .Install new woodruff key (7),flexible coupler assembly (6), and bushing (4)on impeller shaft (5).c .Install two new set screws (3).d.Position flexible coupler assembly (6) to meet the dimension recorded indisassembly and torque setscrews (3) to 23 ft-lbs (31 N•m).TM 10-4320-344-243-22
