Diesel fuel is flammable.
Keep sparks, cigarettes, and open flames
away from fuel system components while working on engine.
Ensure container is used to catch fuel and fuel is disposed of
properly.
Failure to obey these warnings may result in personal injury or death.
Place pan under fuel tank (Figure 2-167,
1) and remove drain plug (2) to drain
f u e l.
Remove eight screws (3), lock washers (4), flat washers (5), four straps (6),
and fuel tank (1).
Discard lock washers (4).

Remove straight adapter (7).
Remove four screws (8), flat washers (9),
fuel gauge (10), and gasket (11).
Discard gasket (11).
