REMOVAL: Refer to Figure 4-19.
a. Drain oil.
b. Remove hex head bolt (1) from crankcase.
c.
Remove lube oil strainer (2) and O-ring (3). Discard O-ring.
SERVICE:
a. Thoroughly clean strainer with diesel fuel.
b. Shake dry and thoroughly rinse strainer again with clean diesel fuel.
c.
Repeat steps a and b until all dirt has been removed from the strainer.
