Select new rope. Singe both ends of the nylon rope with a match flame to prevent fraying.

Tie a knot in the rope and feed through plastic reel (5).

Pull enough rope through T-handle (1) to make a knot.

Remove bracing screwdriver and let reel rewind rope slowly.
(10) Check the starter for proper operation before installing on engine.
INSTALLATION:
a. Check recoil starter (4) for operation before installing on engine.
b. Position the recoil starter (5) assembly on the cooling case cover as noted at removal. Push
the cam back into the assembly if it is extended.

Install four bolts (4).
