(SeeFigures 3 & 4.)Figure 3Figure 4Figure 5Figure 65. Slide the assembled shaft adapter clamp(Ref. No. 2) to within 1/8" from the end of theshaft adapter (Ref. No. 3). Align the slot in theshaft adapter with the gap between the twoclamp halves and tighten the two socket headcapscrews (Ref. No. 1) with 3/16 hex key (allenwrench) (See Figures 3 & 5).6.Loosen the 3/8-16 x 1” hex capscrews (Ref.No. 7) previously installed. Remove the 0.020"shim from the opening in the front of the casing(See Figure 6). Remove the screw (Rev. No. 7)and washer (Ref. No. 6) installed in the bottomhole of adapter and rethread it into the top holein adapter (See Figure 4).7.Thread two 3/8-16 x 1¼ hex capscrews (Ref.No. 22) with washers (Rev. No. 6) into twobottom holes in adapter. Install mounting foot(Ref. No. 23) with the longer leg towards therear of motor. Tighten all four hex capscrewswith 9/16" wrench (See Figure 3).8.Turn impeller (Ref. No. 14) with a socketwrench on the impeller locknut (Ref. No. 16), toinsure the impeller turns freely (turn clockwiseonly). Impeller nut (Ref. No. 16) is turned CWto tighten down the impeller. Pump motorrotation is CCW facing front of pump.9.Place suction plate gasket (Ref. No. 18) oncasing face. Place suction plate (Ref. No. 19)on gasket and casing face with the inlet to thetop of pump. Thread (7) 1/4-20 x 3/4 hexcapscrews through plate into casing and tightenwith 7/16" wrench (See Figure 3).10. Pump may now be returned to normal positionand is ready for installation.PUMPINSTALLATION1.Locate the pump as close to the fluid sourceas possible making the suction line as short aspossible.CAUTION: The unit should be located where motor isprotected from weather and extremes of heat, cold andhumidity.2.Mount the unit on a solid foundation. On fixedinstallations, install both a union and a gatevalve (not furnished) on the discharge side ofthe pump for service convenience. -To,facilitate priming, install a Tee in the dischargeof the pump itself. Use the horizontal leg of theTee as the pump discharge and place a pipeplug in vertical leg. This plug can be removedand installed easily for filling the casing with theliquid necessary for initial primingCAUTION: Do not use globe or other restricting type of valveat the discharge, as this would seriously restrict the capacityof the pump.3.Attach suction piping to the suction inlet anddischarge pipe to the discharge outlet. Thesuction line should be positioned such thatthere is a continual upward slope from the fluidsource to the pump. Avoid using loops orsections of pipe or fittings which might permitair to become trapped.-5-
