TM 10-4320-310-145-11.INSPECT/REPLACE CYLINDER (Continued)4Measure cylinder bore at 4 depths. A normal or newbore diameter should be 2.8740 to 2.8774 inches(73.00 to 73.01 mm). If wear limits for a normal borecylinder have been reached or exceeded, replacecylinder and piston. If measurements on axis A andB are different, cylinder is out-of-round or has highspots. Replace cylinder and piston.5Check that the top and bottom piston faces aresmooth and flat. If damaged, replace cylinder andpiston.INSTALLATION:1Install piston (1) in accordance with paragraph 5-12.Apply lubricating oil to piston rings.2Check that piston rings are offset by 120 degrees.3Compress piston rings with piston ring clamp (2).When Installing cylinder, make sure piston orconnecting rod does not knock againstcrankcase. This could result in seriousdamage to piston or connecting rod.Use care when installing cylinder to preventdamage to piston rings.4Apply lubricating oil to inside of cylinder (3) andslowly mount cylinder on studs (4).5Remove piston ring clamp (2).5-28
