Refer to paragraph 3-29.2.Install crankshaft oil seal as follows:NOTELDL TFE (Lay-down Lip, Teflon) oil sealsfor service replacement have an assemblytool which protects the seal lip duringshipment and installation. The LDL TFEoil seal must be installed with the lip of theseal and the crankshaft clean and dry. Donot use any kind of lubricant. The use oflubricant will result in oil leakage at theseal.a.Use hand pressure to push crankshaft oil seal (6)from assembly tool (7) onto crankshaft (8) as far aspossible. Remove assembly tool.b.Install top plate (9) of oil seal puller/installer oncrankshaft (8) using three vibration damper mountingcapscrews (10) with flat washers (11). Tighten threecapscrews alternately in 1/2 turn increments until topplate (9) seats against end of crankshaft (8).3-154
