The tank and pump unit is truck mounted and does not requiredismantling for short distance movement. Move the tank and pump unit to the new worksite with thevehicle.b. Long Distance Movement.(1) Provide a suitable container for the tank and pump unit. Refer to TM 38-230-2, Chapter 6 forcontainer fabrication instructions.(2) Provide suitable blocking and tiedowns to prevent the unit from shifting during transport.Section Ill. PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCECHECKS AND SERVICES (PMCS)4-6. GENERALTo ensure that the tank and pump unit is ready for operation at all times, it must be inspectedsystematically so that defects may be discovered and corrected before they result in serious damage orfailure. The necessary preventive maintenance checks and services are listed in table 4-1 and shown onfigure 4-2. Defects discovered during operation of the system shall be noted for future correction to bemade as soon as operation has ceased. Stop operation immediately if a deficiency is noted duringoperation, which would damage the equipment if operation were continued. If the equipment fails tooperate, troubleshoot with the proper equipment. Report any deficiencies using the proper forms. (SeeDA Pam 738-750).4.7. INSPECTION AND SERVICERefer to table 4-1 for a listing of preventive maintenance checks and services which must be per-formed by organizational maintenance. An explanation of the tabular columns is as follows:a. Item Number. The number appearing in this column indicates the chronological order of thechecks and services regardless of interval. This column is used as a source of item numbers for the TMNumber column on DA Form 2404, Equipment Inspection and Maintenance Worksheet, in recordingresults of preventive maintenance checks and services.b.
