f. Filter/Separator. The filter/separator (figure 1-8) is a vertical, 50 gpm (189 litersTM5-4930.230-13per minute) unitdesigned for maximum operating pressure of 75 psi (5.273 kg/sq cm). Both solids and water are removedfrom the fuel through the (blending) and filtering medium of the elements inside the filter/separator. Thefilter/separator consists of:(1) Four canisters.(2) Four filter elements.(3) One differential pressure gage.(4) One water sight gage.(5) One draincock.Any solid impurities and water in the liquid being pumped is trapped in the filter elements. The elementshold the solid particles and the water collects and settles to the deck plate where it can be periodicallyremoved through the drain.
