Oil Level, Oil Dipstick, Cover, and Cartridge (Oil Filter).
Oil level is
low or Class
With engine level, check oil level as follows:
III oil leak
present.
Remove oil dipstick.
Wipe oil dipstick with lintless cloth.
Insert oil dipstick all the way into engine.
Withdraw oil dipstick.
Engine oil should coat oil dipstick to second mark
(FULL).
If oil coating is below second mark, remove oil cover
and add oil to bring level up to second mark (FULL).
Again check oil level, be sure oil coats oil dipstick to
second mark (FULL).
If oil coating extends to second mark (FULL), con-
tinue check procedure.
Check that oil cover is tight.
Check cartridge (oil filter) for oil leaks in cartridge or
at a point where cartridge and front cover meet.
