Step 2. Check for dirty, corroded, or loose cable connections on starter and
alternator.
Clean and tighten starter and/or alternator connections if necessary.
Step 3. Check V-belts for breaks or cracks. Check belt tension.
Tighten or replace V-belts as necessary (para 4-26 and 4-27).
NOTE
V-belts must be replaced as a matched set.
Step 4. Remove and check starter (para 4-37).
Replace defective starter.
Step 5. If engine still will not crank or cranks slowly, the engine may be frozen
or bound.
Notify direct support.
