Remove any old gasket from gasket surface of thermostathousing and water outlet elbow. Install new gasket and position water outlet elbow. Installmounting bolts and lockwashers. Tighten bolts 23-26 ft lbs (31-35 N•m). Position upper radiatorhose on water outlet elbow and tighten hose clamp snugly. Check and clean bleed hole inthermostat housing. Pour collected coolant back into radiator and install radiator cap. Startengine and check for leaks. If leaks appear, tighten hose clamp on water outlet elbow.Step 3. Check fan belt tension. Belt tension is correct when belts can be deflected with forefingerpressure 1/2-3/4 inch (12.7-19.0 mm) at the midpoint between pulleys.4-65
