NOTE
Load is applied to engine when accessories are applied such as air conditioner,
Verify if excessively white or black exhaust smoke is consistently present when engine is
running, or when load is applied to engine.

If excessively white or black exhaust smoke is present when load is applied, ensure that
load is not excessive and that only mandatory accessories are running simultaneously so
an overload condition does not arise.
b.
If excessively white or black exhaust smoke is present at all times, proceed to next

NOTE
Engine should not be run at idle for extended periods of time. Unburned fuel,
often called wet stacking, may occur.
Verify if engine has been run at idle for an extended period of time.
a.
If engine has run at low idle for an extended period of time, run at moderate to high idle for
15 to 20 minutes. Verify exhaust color has returned to normal (Volume 1, WP 0012).
b.
If engine has not run at idle for an extended period of time, notify maintenance.
