Cap line.(3)Tag and disconnect wires to fuel solenoid. Remove screw (2) and fuel solenoid (3) from fuel injectionpump (10).(4)Disconnect fuel injection lines from fuel injection pump.(5)Disconnect fuel lines at fuel supply pump.NOTEStep (6) applies when timing marks are already marked on crankshaft pulley.(6)Align injection timing mark (1, Figure 3-14) on crankshaft pulley (2) with pointer of timing tool (3) asfollows:(a)Install timing tool (3) on engine front cover (4). Position pointer so that the pointed end almostcontacts the outside edge of the crankshaft pulley.(b)Rotate crankshaft pulley clockwise (CW) until valves on No. 1 cylinder overlap. Then turn pulleyCW 3600 (one full turn).(c)If necessary, align first mark (1) on crankshaft pulley next to pointer of timing tool (3) by rotatingcrankshaft pulley (3) CW.3-32
