Federal Stock Number. Indicates the Fed-eral stock number assigned to the item and willbe used for requisitioning purposes.c. Description.Indicates the Federal itemname and any additional description of the itemrequired, Assembly components and subassem-blies are indented under major assemblies. Theabbreviation “w/e“ when used as a part of thenomenclature, indicates the Federal stock num-ber includes all armament, equipment, acces-sories, and repair parts issued with the item. Apart number or other reference number is fol-lowed by the applicable 5-digit Federal supplycode for manufacturers in parenthesis. Repairparts quantities included in kits and sets areshown in front of the repair part name. Materialrequired for manufacture or fabrication is identi-fied.d. Unit of Measure (U/M). A 2 character alpha-betic abbreviation indicating the amount or quan-tity of the item upon which the allowances arebased, e.g., ft, ea, pr, etc.e. Quantity Incorporated in Unit. Indicatesthe quantity of the item used in the assemblygroup. A “V” appearing in this column in lieue. .of a quantity indicates that a definite quantitycannot be indicated ( g., shims, spacers, etc. )f. Fifteen-Day Organizational Maintenance Al-lowance.(1) The allowance columns are divided intofour subcolumns. Indicated in each subcolumnopposite the first appearance of each item is thetotal quantity of the items authorized for thenumber of equipments supported. Subsequent ap-pearances of the same item will have the letters“REF” in the allowance column, To locate thereferenced item, locate the FSN or referencenumber in the index. The earliest figure and itemnumber is the referenced item. Items authorizedfor use as required but not for initial stockageare identified with an asterisk in the allowancecolumn.(2) The quantitative allowance for organiza-tional level of maintenance represents one initialprescribed load for a 15-day period for the num-ber of equipments supported. Units authorizedadditional prescribed loads, multiply the numberof prescribed loads by the quantity in the ap-propriate density column to determine the num-ber of repair parts authorized.(3) To determine allowances when support-ing more than 100 of these equipments: First, divide the number of equipments supported by100 by moving the decimal two spaces left; sec-ond, multiply the result by the quantity in the51-100 density column. Example, authorized al-lowance for 51-100 equipments is 12; for 140equipments, multiply 12 by 1.40 or 16.80 roundedoff to 17 parts required.(4) Subsequent changes to allowances will belimited as follows: No change in the range ofitems is authorized. If additional items are con-sidered necessary, recommendation should be for-warded to the U. S. Army Mobility EquipmentCommand for exception or revision to the allow-ance list. Revisions to the range of items author-ized will be made by the U. S. Army MobilityEquipment Command based upon engineering ex-perience, demand data, or TAERS information.g.
