Tighten with assembled hex nuts to 21 ft lb (28 N.m) using torque rocker arms gage. 31. Cover Install cover, new gasket, hex bolt, and washers Install new gasket. after valve clearance adjustment. ADJUSTMENT NOTE Adjust valve clearance only when engine is cold. 32. Flywheel or Rotate crankshaft by rotating flywheel or V-belt V-belt pulley pulley clockwise until valve stems and rocker arms overlap. The exhaust valve should be closing and its valve stem rising. The inlet valve should be opening and its valve stem going down. Both valve stems should be at the same height. Rotate crankshaft another complete revolution, or 360 degrees of travel of the flywheel or pulley. The piston should be at the top of its compression stroke and the valve clearance can be checked and adjusted. 5-90
