TM 5-4320-300-14 4-39. THERMOSTAT Location/Item Action Remarks INSTALLATION/REPLACEMENT 7. Thermostat Install, spring first, into thermostat housing. 8. Water out- Install onto thermo- let flange stat housing; aline gasket screw holes. 9. Water out- Install, over gasket let flange and thermostat, onto housing. Aline screw holes. Install cap screws, with lock- washers, through flange and into hous- ing. Tighten securely. 10. Radiator hose Place hose clamp (upper) loosely over hose. Place hose end over flange outlet. Position clamp over end of hose. Tighten securely. 11. Draincock Close. 12. Cooling Fill. Use coolant drained in step 2, above, or system fill with a fresh solution of 50% water and 50% antifreeze conforming to MIL-A-46153. 13. Radiator Install. cap 4-157
