Before attempting to unload the Model US9OCCD-1 Centrifugal Pump, make sure that the unloading facility iscapable of handling 3250 pounds (1475 kilograms).b. Remove the securing chains or cables from tiedown rings on the trailer.CAUTIONDo not attempt to manually roll the pump unit down an inclined ramp.When using a crane for unloading, secure lifting sling to tiedown rings. Donot allow unit to swing while suspended. Failure to observe this warningmay result in damage to the unit.c. Unload the centrifugal pump unit fromcarrier by rolling it down a suitable rampusing a mechanical restraining device, or bylifting it with a crane. If a crane is used, liftunit by securely attaching lifting sling to thetiedown rings.4-5. INSPECTING AND SERVICING EQUIPMENTa. Inspect centrifugal pump unit for any damage that may have occurred during shipping.b. Inspect unit for loose mounting hardware.c. Inspect unit for missing components such as chock blocks, protective plugs, and fill plugs.d. Refer to LO 5-4320-300-12 (figure 4-1) for lubrication points, intervals, and detailed instructions.e. Refer to table 4-1 and perform preventive maintenance checks and services.4-2
