TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURE
TRANSMISSION NOISY OR WILL NOT SHIFT PROPERLY DURING OPERATION - WWDR
SYMPTOM
Shifting gears is difficult and/or noisy, or transmission is noisy when vehicle is moving.
MALFUNCTION
Operator not trained for proper gear shifting.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Verify if operator is trained for proper gear shifting (Volume 1, WP 0013).
a.
If operator is not trained for proper gear shifting, retrain operator.
b.
If operator is trained for proper gear shifting, proceed to next MALFUNCTION - Proper
gear shifting operation not adhered to.
MALFUNCTION
Proper gear shifting operation not adhered to.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
CAUTION
Damage to synchronizer gearing may occur due to improper operation and/or
maintenance. Proper shifting operation must be adhered to. Failure to comply
may result in damage to equipment.
If transmission noise is not constant, but occurs only during any of the following, ensure NOT to
perform any of the following procedures.
Shifting into Low Range at too high a road speed
Up shifting in nonsequential order (causing gear grinding)
Down shifting at too high a road/engine speed
If transmission noise occurs when shifting transmission properly, or noise is constant
when vehicle is moving, notify maintenance.
